This is a difficult question to answer without raising issues in my mind. ISO 9001 in clause 4.4.1 refers to "The organization shall determine the processes needed". Determining is not the same as identifying. Determining means establishing the processes by research or calculation, there is will in there. Identify processes means recognizing, discovering processes among the available processes. The truth is, there are no available processes waiting to be discovered. Organizations should decide which processes they need. For example, I worked with service organizations where “Treating mail” (old fashion “snail-mail”) can easily be described as a process in a flowchart, but they don’t give enough importance to make it appear at the organization model based in the process approach. Another organization I worked with, received their orders from a catalogue through “snail-mail”. For them “Treating mail” was an important process. Having stated this kind of disclaimer can I ask you to be more specific on the kind of office that you have in mind?
