Certification benefits

I have started working for a manufacturer of Medical Device software. The same software is also sold a non-medical device in certain regions. Should the company be certified to ISO9001 as well as their current certificate of ISO13485?

ISO 9001 certification is not mandatory. Your company should first evaluate what can be the benefits from ISO 9001 certification and then decide. For example, does ISO 9001 certification bring marketing/image benefits?
