GAP analysis before the implementation

Answer:
The gap analysis is not a mandatory step, it represent the usual practice. The purpose of the gap analysis is to determine to what level your company is already compliant with the standard and what needs to be done to achieve full compliance with the standard. It represents a good basis for planning the implementation but again the company can implement the standard even without using the gap analysis.
