Clause 6.3 is about planning how to handle changes without breaking the quality management system. Consider these examples of changes, an organization:

  • moves to a new location,
  • updates a production line, or
  • decides to outsource parts of the production process for the first time,

It is necessary to plan the introduction of these changes in a controlled way. Each change means transforming the organization over time. Keeping the QMS integrity means considering the impact of changes and planning how to do them in a systematic way.
