ISO 9001:2008 question.

During a certification audit it was found that the gas central heating boiler has not been serviced for 3 years? Is it a NC and if yes, against what requirement of the standard? Thank you.

It can hardly be considered as nonconformity, although it falls under clause 6.3 Infrastructure in ISO 9001:2008 or clause 7.1.3 Infrastructure in ISO 9001:2015.

The only way that can be nonconformity is if you defined in your documentation that you will service the boiler once a year or more often than three years, or if the boiler requires periodical servicing according to the manufacturer. Otherwise, it can only be an observation but not the nonconformity.

Thank you so much Strahinja. You've confirmed my point unless it's stated in the client's procedure the frequency of the boiler being serviced it cannot be considered as a nonconformity.
