Language of the work instructions

Could you kindly advise, where it states in IATF 16949 that (for example in Clause 8.5.1.2.c) operator instructions should be in the language(s) understood by the personnel responsible to follow them, does this mean that all our operator instruction need to be available in all the European languages and Asian languages as well, or is it sufficient to hold it in English only please?

Answer:

The standard requires for work instructions to be provided on the language understandable to the personnel responsible to follow them. THis doesn't mean that you need to write the instructions on all languages that the personnel understand but on one language (if possible) that all the personnel understands, in this case English.

Usual practice for international companies is to provide work instructions both in English and the local language where the particular factory or part of the organization is located.
