Product safety requirements when there are no such requirements
In IATF clause 4.4.1.2 -- don't understand product safety thing. We make small washers, third tier supplier, nothing to do with product safety. How do I satisfy this need? I am sure others might be in similar situation.

Answer:
The fact is, your product doesn't have to have any safety issues, but still you need to establish product safety process that will ensure that you identified the requirements from product safety and you control product safety characteristics. If there are no product safety characteristics that's fine but still you need to have this process. This requirement does seem to me as an overkill but it cannot be excluded from the QMS unfortunately.

So, if my company doesn't have any product safety, can we decide which product will be considered like product safety into my company?

Dear Norma,
You need to define process for product safety and apply it to all your products, the product safety cannot be arbitrarily applied to some products and not to others.
Best regards,
Strahinja
