In QMS auditing, can you please advise me on the process of rescheduling an already scheduled audit which could not hold due some events?
Answer:
It depends on the type of the audit, in case of internal audit, you just need to speak with the Quality Manager or Management Representative or whoever defines the internal audit schedule and simply reschedule the audit.
In case of second-party audit, when your customer or someone on behalf of your customer conducts the audit, you need to speak with the customer and explain why you are not able to host the audit.
When it comes to certification audit, you need to speak with certification body and require rescheduling of the audit, since you are their client they will most probably understand and agree with you new date for the audit.
Thanks Strahinja.
The response is clear. Just to add, is there a step by step process and within a defined time limit for an internal audit to be rescheduled? Bearing in mind that you don't want to create an unhealthy situation for people to latch on for their own personal gain.
There is no some time-frame defined by the standard, but it is better to make it as soon as possible. It is important to cover entire scope of the QMS and all requirements of the standard with internal audit over the period of one year. This also isn't a requirement of the standard but it is a common practice.
