Contracting and ISO

"Our company is working to ISO 9001:2015, now at Stage 2. The auditor has asked us if we are a contractor? We have our own Company Name (Financial Entity) but our Employment Contracts, Pension and Payroll are paid by another company, the link being, we have the same chairman. However, HR functions Induction, Training, Holiday and Sick records, etc are carried out and managed within our company. We are not a subsidiary. Do we class ourselves, "Contractors" - Would this then be detrimental to us gaining our own ISO certification? Please could this be clarified?

Answer:

When ISO speaks about contracting it is about purchasing processes related with products and/or services delivered to customers. In your question you only speak about processes not related to what you deliver to customers. So, I don’t think this would impact your certification.
