Document formatting change
While changing the document into a new format from the old format. Can we make the document start with revision number "A" by saying that in revision history document revised with New format?
Ex. If the Present document (Training procedure) with revision number ''C" in the present format. Due to some reasons, we are changing the document in New format. Then can we put the document revision as A with New format? If we do like this is there any chance of getting Nonconformity.
Assign topic to the user
As long as you avoid obsolete documents in use there should be no problem with that. Be sure to inform people about the change. Personally, I have done that several times in different organizations. The purpose of the revision number is to make easier the verification that the version in use is the last version.
