Environmental scope

What would be the environmental scope of a wholsale company (a company that does not own production facilities, but buys items, produced by its business partners)? Does the environmental impact of the business producing the items have to be reported as part of the environmental impact of the wholesale business?

ISO 14001:2015 uses the definition 3.3.3 about life cycle.

Organizations when implementing an environmental management system should adopt a life cycle perspective and determine environmental aspects and impacts that they can control and those that they can influence. The power or influence of a wholesale company can vary from weak to very powerful. So, considering what the organization can control and level of influence, significant aspects and impacts of suppliers should be reported.

What if the company has more than one location, in more than one state (meaning more offices and warehouses other than the headquarters)? How does the environmental scope looks like? and what about the legal requirements?

If an organization has more than one location, the scope should include the activities or processes involved, the products or services considered, and the name and addresses of each location. Each location has to comply with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to its own location.
