According to IATF 16949:2016 standard in the requirement of 4.4.1.2, product safety job description is not directly required. You can add the points specified in 4.4.1.2 of the IATF 16949:2016 standard from item ‘’a’’ to item ‘’m’’ to the existing job descriptions of the employees in the organization according to the tasks they are responsible for. In this way, you don't need to write a separate job description.

If your customer-specific requirement is identified as the appointment of a product safety responsible, then it may be necessary to write a job description for this topic.
German customers require the appointment of a product safety responsible like Mercedes and Volkswagen.
If you have such a special requirement, then it may be necessary to write a product safety responsible job description separately.

a) IATF 16949: 2016 standard 4.4.1.2 article, in the clause "i"; there is a request as follows. "Training identified by the organization or customer for personnel involved in product-safety related products and associated manufacturing processes."
First of all, all employees affecting the product should receive training on product safety. Product safety issues can be added to employee job descriptions. If your customer-specific requirement is identified as the appointment of a product safety responsible, then it may be necessary to write a job description for this topic.

b) In IATF 16949: 2016 standard clause 4.4.1.2; requires a documented process for product safety. For the product safety process to be documented; procedure or instruction can also be written.  You can explain the escalation issue in the product safety procedure or instruction or explain this issue with an excel and/or word, etc. table and you can refer to the relevant process, procedure, or instruction.
