ISO 9001 Car manufacturing

We are a small car company entering the XY luxury car market. Our scope is primarily designing the car, engineering, project managing and sales, and marketing and we will contract the Manufacturing to an already ISO 9001:2015 certified company.

My question: which clauses can we exclude in defining our QMS for certification? 3 years from now we will manufacture our own cars and I assume we reapply for certification when the business scope changes?

  • Designs the car – clause 8.3
  • Buys products, services and processes – clause 8.4
  • Have a set of operations – clause 8.5
  • Control product quality – clause 8.6
  • Treat product nonconformities – clause 8.7
