Answer
Consider an organization with a quality management system (QMS) that manufactures public lighting systems based on solar energy (real case).
According to ISO 9001:2015 clause 4.1 organization should determine and monitor internal and external issues relevant for the QMS.
For external issues I find useful using the PESTEL technique (political, economic, social, technological, environmental, legislative).
External positive issues can be:
* (social) – there is a growing trend for the use of renewable energy;
* (technological) – batteries are becoming cheaper, lighter and more efficient.
For internal issues go back into your internal meetings and reports what is coming out as positive things?
Internal positive issues can be:
Great internal segregation for metal reuse and recycling;
* Efficient use of energy;
* Low rate of defects.
